EndByte (“EndByte,” “we,” “us”) provides certified data destruction services in Northern California. This policy explains what personal information we collect through www.endbyte.net and in the course of providing our services, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions? Information we collect

• Information you give us. When you request a quote or contact us, we collect what you enter: your name, email, phone number, approximate drive count, the service you're interested in, and your message. If you use the instant estimator, the options you pick are passed to the quote page so we can confirm your estimate.
• Service records. When we perform work for you, we keep records needed to document it — for example, contact details, pickup locations, drive models and serial numbers, and certificates of destruction.
• Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our site and the services it relies on receive technical information such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and referring page. We use the Google Ads tag, which uses cookies and similar technologies to measure whether our ads lead to quote requests.

The data on your devices

The drives and media you send us are handled for one purpose: destroying the data on them. We don't browse, copy, or keep the contents of your media. Every drive is tracked by serial number through sanitization or physical destruction, and drives that fail verification are physically destroyed.

How we use information

• To respond to inquiries, prepare quotes, and schedule and perform services.
• To issue certificates of destruction and audit reports, and keep business records.
• To measure and improve our website and advertising.
• To comply with legal obligations and protect our rights.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the business, and only as needed for them to do so:

• Formspree, which processes our website forms and delivers your submission to us.
• Google, for advertising measurement (Google Ads) and web fonts (Google Fonts).
• Our website hosting provider, which may log basic request data such as IP addresses.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or in connection with a sale or reorganization of the business.

Cookies and ad measurement

The Google Ads tag may set cookies to measure ad performance. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and manage how Google uses data for ads at adssettings.google.com. Blocking cookies won't stop the site from working.

How long we keep it

We keep inquiry information for as long as needed to respond and follow up, and service records (including certificates) for as long as needed to support your compliance needs and our legal and business obligations. When information is no longer needed, we delete it.

Your California privacy rights

If you're a California resident, you can ask us to tell you what personal information we've collected about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and you can opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information. We won't treat you differently for making a request. To make a request, email info@endbyte.net; we may need to verify your identity before acting on it.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but protecting data is the whole point of our business, and we take it seriously.

Children

Our website and services are not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
